Turning Pain Into Purpose - Compassionate Psychiatric Care and System-Level Change

Hello, I’m Christopher (“Chris”) Wojnar, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Founder of Empowered Psychiatric Solutions. I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for individuals and consulting, education, and strategy for organizations committed to improving mental health and suicide prevention.

My path into mental health began after witnessing the impact of a family member’s crisis - an experience that transformed my pain into purpose. It showed me that change happens not only in treatment rooms, but in the systems, policies, and workplaces that shape our ability to heal.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent years in business development and leadership, giving me a deep understanding of how healthcare, organizations, and people intersect. Today, I draw on over a decade of healthcare experience and extensive leadership across local, national, and international boards to bridge the gap between clinical care and organizational well-being.

I hold degrees in nursing from Chamberlain University and have trained across multiple psychiatric settings - including neurological intensive care, partial hospitalization, eating disorder treatment, and child/adolescent psychiatry. My practice integrates trauma-informed care, lived experience, and mindful prescribing - treating you as a whole person, not a diagnosis.

Whether working one-on-one with clients or guiding hospitals and health systems, my mission is simple: to help people and organizations build cultures of compassion, connection, and recovery.
